Raised in the US, Karen moved to Europe, settling in Berlin in 1994. She worked at Deutsche Welle TV and a political PR agency before starting her own communications agency clients such as Sony Ericsson, BMW and Onitsuka Tiger. In 2013, she received her Executive Master’s degree with a thesis on integrating international talent into local labor markets. After co-founding an executive search firm, Karen consulted for local startups, international companies and the city of Berlin before founding Rising in November 2019.

Tina Holmes, Director People and Culture at Amorelie

The Director of People & Culture is a central part of Amorelie’s organisation. Tina provides vision, strategic leadership and establishes the best practices for Amorelie’s People & Culture. She leads all aspects of people & culture operations and her experience in Human Resources spans across 20 years and includes companies like Sony, Apple and DDB.

Michael Becher, Chief People Officer at wefox Group (wefox & ONE)

Michael is the Chief People Officer at wefox. He kicked off his career in corporate environments and developed extensively as HR / People Leader in the european start- and scale up scene across different industries like e-commerce, travel and banking.

With his holistic profile and professional focus on Employee Experience, Leadership and Organisational Development he is embedding modern people functions into organisations to help the strategic development and growth of companies.

Daniel Illes, Head of People at Vinted / Kleiderkreisel

Daniel is Head of People at Vinted, a Series D consumer tech company HQ-ed in Vilnius and Berlin. Before his current role, Daniel spent four years as CPO at Drover in London. Before venturing into the world of People and Talent, Daniel worked in a series of operating roles at Lyft and WeWork and formerly as a lawyer at a global law firm.
